Guizhou Laishigang Liquor Co., Ltd. was founded by Mr. Laishigang, a direct descendant of the Lai family, whose brewing techniques have been passed down through five generations over a century. The origins trace back to the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty when the Lai family ancestors began brewing "Lai's Shaochun Liquor" in Maotai Village. 1929
The Lai family partnered with the Jia and Zhou families to venture into spirits brewing. The business was later taken over exclusively by the Lai family. The spirits they produced gradually gained nationwide recognition as a renowned sauce-flavor spirits.

The privately-owned distillery was integrated into a state-owned liquor enterprise.
1989-1994
The distillery's founder, Lai Shigang, studied brewing and blending under the guidance of his father, Lai Guishan, and established Guizhou Lai Mao liquor Co., Ltd.
1995
Both "Lai Mao" and "Old Lai Mao" spirits were awarded the Gold Medal in the food category at the 3rd International Fair of China's Science and Technology.
1997
The "Lai Shigang" character and portrait trademarks were registered, and the enterprise was subsequently renamed Guizhou Lai Shigang liquor Co., Ltd.
2012
Lai Shigang spirits 40%vol won the Gold Award at 2012 the first session of favorite Chinese wine in the world appraisal activities in the United States.
2022
Lai Shigang Rongyao 1995 (53%vol) Baijiu achieved the Grand Gold Medal at the 2022 FISA France International Spirits Awards.
